Well... apologies on behalf of Mamacita to all that love her post... she was derailed to post due to her busy schedule... but as a man I would say "most women are always late"! Anyway...enjoy!!!
True as the day i am embracing and listening to Mbaqanga! Now musically I am the most segregating person I am yet to meet. Simply because I can and cant stand this back of something we hear on radio stations these days. So growth teaches me that all things have their time, I doubt I would have enjoyed the music I am slowly falling in love with right now if I was 12 years old. I remember because when I was 12 years old I was listen to shai,jodeci,boys2men,snoop, ladies love cool J and the lot. "Caught up in the midst of the musical bliss", I take seriously my musical history and the lyrics my brother allowed me to be exposed to. I was groomed in a "smooth like jazz" Guru loving environment that allowed no hate, I personally have no musical background like most fortunate creatures but I can boast variety. There is this distinct culture amongst South African music supporters, they fear change. So they stick to what they know and reject the rest, that would be like sleeping with the unknown and no one wants that. I for one am tired of this culture, someone one needs to tell me what cow we have to slaughter to get our supporters and those we borrow from some genres to enjoy and embrace the music made by young up and coming artists.
