Daily words of wisdom!!!

Posted by Trompie

I was at what i thought was a random show on Saturday, at baseline. It was one of those days where i became disposable to my friends, I was a go between. Never really alone but felt lonely. It was surely a change of scene from the baggy floor touching pants and edgy and ever so dynamic hip hop culture I always manage to be around. There I was seeing hippies of the highest order, people who believe in chakra, and spirit and dwellings within some inexplicable sphere. The air was pungent with what would have been the awakening of a new spiritual realm in that venue. Maybe I was high, which would be odd since i don't smoke. Anyway there I was watching world renowned Cuban musician
Elidas Ochoa obviously oblivious as to who this is. A strange sense feeling made me stand tall as people of various culture enjoyed this music. Still content with the notion that black man cant swim i felt at ease to find that white people still have no regard for rhythm. I mean who is to say the was i sway should be determined by the beat. I realised as the old man spoke only Cuban, that i never matters what language music is in. Music is what it is, I am actually disappointed in the propaganda that vernacular is limiting. How do we disregard our own languages and voices with a mere statement and kill what has been for centuries with a few "researched opinions?" I had fun on Saturday, not understanding a word that man said my hips swayed to the rhythm; and I know atleast two of his songs!
